Pat Manley is a keen sailor, and must have one of the most "self-equipped” boats afloat. He is a technical contributor and the resident diesel guru for Practical Boat Owner magazine, and in this role has tested most of the electrical devices on the market, using many of them on his own boat. He also teaches courses on diesel engines, VHF and radar, is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Navigation and an RYA Yachtmaster Instructor.
