Narcissism and Narcissistic Behaviour

A cerebral narcissist believes that he/she has a superior intellectual level than others. This type of narcissist pretends that he knows everything or has answers for every question.

He does not listen to and understand the feelings and needs of others. All he cares is about himself and fulfilling his own needs.

A narcissist will not feel regret, shame or guilt, no matter how cruelest act he commits or harshest word he used about someone even with an intention to hurt him.

Sometimes narcissists react defensively as well and become silent and cold. This form of narcissism is known as passive-aggressive rage

Some researchers believe that narcissist personality develops when a child in brought up in the environment of either excessive pampering or excessive criticism

Many researches also suggest that a narcissist personality has both cerebral and somatic narcissism at the same time but one type appears more dominant than other. Moreover, a narcissist personality continues to swing from one extreme (cerebral) to another extreme (somatic) or vice versa. At one stage of their life, they may appear to be a somatic narcissist but after a while, they may have more dominant cerebral symptoms

For instance, narcissists will not feel sadness or happiness when their close ones are happy or sad

Do not overreact and try to develop a non-responsive attitude towards a narcissist.

narcissist often manipulates or exaggerates a situation in order to meet his unreasonable needs. He can cross any limit to achieve his own purposes or to cover up his self-perceived deficiencies. A narcissist personality also has a tendency for playing blame games. He will often accuse you for something you have never done.

Do not ask for care, attention, love or support because he/she is unable to provide it. Do not get hurt on their harsh response because they are unable to empathize; your feelings will not have any effect on them.
