        Vitamin C does not cause kidney stones, as once believed, or other significant side effects. There is no long-term toxicity for either vitamin. Vitamin E can have a slight blood thinning effect; check with your doctor if you are taking other heart medications, especially anticoagulants. Generally authorities do not advise taking more than 1,000 IU of vitamin E daily, except on the advice of a doctor.
